Jerry Harriss, Senior Geologist

The senior geologist and my partner is a guy named Jerry Harriss. Hes 35 years old, and a graduate of Pomona College in Los Angeles. He worked for an oil company in California, taught at Pomona and spent three years in Hawaii working in marine geology. He was married for seven or eight years but divorced his wife just before coming here in 1936.
Max says Jerry is the best geologist in Casoc, though he is somewhat impractical with machinery. As Walt Hoag says, "Anything that runs is a mystery to Jerry." He is always ready to stop and explain geological details to me. Though his contract is up in October he may stay over for another year. If so, he and I will do some detailed geological work up north, which will be invaluable to my education as a geologist.
